من الضروري التوضيح إن هذا الكتاب لا يأخذ موقفا دفاعيا عشوائيا عن المراهق، لكنه بالوقت نفسه هو يتعمق في مضامينه ليشكل دعماً حقيقيا له ويتجذر في الأسس الدافعة لكل تصرفاته، عله بذلك يكون الصديق المرشد إذا صح التعبير له ولأهله أيضا وإن عادات المراهق وردود فعله المؤدية إلى خلل في تصرفاته مع نفسه ومع محيطه الخارجي بشكل عام والعائلي بشكل خاص، إنما هو يعود لأسباب ودوافع مختلفة، كما أن الأطباء النفسيين يضطربون في معالجتهم لمشكلة ما للتطرق إلى تاريخ العائلة وإلى الدخول في الكثير من تفاصيل حياتها الخاصة.
