\"يعتبر هذا الكتاب \"تفسير الأحلام\" المنسوب إلى ابن سيرين في أشهر الكتب في هذا المجال لشموليته واتساع موضوعاته. وقد اعتمد مقدمتين ذكر في أولاهما مفهومه للرؤيا والحلم، وشرح في الثانية الآداب التي يجب أن يتصف بها المعبر كالمعرفة بكتاب الله وبسنة رسوله صلى الله عليه وسلم، وبإلمامه العميق باللغة العربية إضافة إلى قدرته على سبر أغوار النفس البشرية لأن كل هذا مرتبط بتفسير الحلم. وبعد هذه المقدمة قسم المؤلف كتابه على تسعة وخمسين بابا عالج فيها مختلف أنواع الرؤى، والأحلام التي يراها الإنسان في النوم، وطريقة تأويلها، ومغزى رموزها وركائزها في اللاشعور.\"
