تروي شيخة محمد الحاي في كتابها (حكايات من تراث الأجداد) قصصا تاريخية عن ماضي رأس الخيمة، نقلا عن رواه من كبار السن أغلبهم من الإمارة، وشيخة محمد الحاي في الخمسين من عمرها أم لأربعة أبناء تقول : عشقت التراث من تعرفي إلى الكثير من كبار السن، وأردت أن أنقل ماضينا للأجيال القادمة، وودت لو أن الجميع يستمعون وينصتون لقصص الآباء والأجداد والحياة الصعبة التي عاشوها ولكن بسعادة، مما دفعها لإصدار كتاب دونت فيه مقابلات مع 26 راويا من كبار السن، أغلبهم من رأس الخيمة، وسردوا فيها الكثير الحوادث التاريخية.
