كتاب الجبر والمقابلة تأليف محمد بن موسى الخوارزمي كتاب رائع وسهل ودسم والأجمل من ذلك هو التقديم والتعليق الرائع من الدكتور مشرفة والدكتور محمد مرسي رحمهما الله، يشعرك بالفخر كونك تقرأ ما ساهم فيه 3 عملاقة في تاريخ العلم من المسلمين، هذا الكتاب يحسم قضية هل ساهم الخوارزمي في وضع الرموز الخاصة بنظام العد العربي الحالي (الذي يستخدمه العالم اليوم على أنه لاتيني) والإجابة تكون بالنفي حيث أنه استخدم في مؤلفاته واعتمد على النظام الهندي للترقيم وهو من أدخل الصفر إليه أيضا لكنه لم يكن من وضع مفهوم الصفر للمرة الأولى.
