يتحدث الكتاب عن أنه تتناول الحقيبة التدريبية الحالية في إحدى جلساتها استراتيجية إتقان التعلم لفرق من المتعلمين التعاونية وفيها يدرس المتعلمون معا ويتعاونون لإنجاز المهام التعليمية المطلوبة في أوراق العمل الخاصة بالمادة التعليمية ويساعد بعضهم البعض لحل المشكلات التي تواجههم كما أنهم يطلبون مساعدة المعلم عندما تقابلهم صعوبات في التعلم ويتم تقويم المتعلم فرديا وتضاف درجته إلى درجات الفريق الذي ينتمي اليه ويتلقى أي متعلم تغذية راجعة بالمعلومات الصحيحة وعندما لا يتقن مهمته التعليمية حتى يصل إلى مستوى الإتقان المطلوب وفيه يقدم المتعلم صاحب المستوى المرتفع المساعدة للمتعلم صاحب المستوى المنخفض.
