تشق نظرية \"علم وجود المسرحية\" طريقا جديدا لخدمة المسرح، والعاملين فى ميدانه. ينطلق المؤلف البروفيسور بيتش توماش من الطبيعة التي حددها أرسطوطاليس ؛ في تفسيره التراجيديا والكوميديا. ولعل أهم ما توصل إليه المؤلف هو الكشف عن جهود ثلاثة من المسرحيين (ستانسلافسكى، برخت، آرتو) إن وظيفة النظرية تتجلى في كشف ما يتضمنه القانون النظري وتفسيره، وهذا ما سعت إليه بدقة (نظرية علم وجود المسرحية)
