هذا الكتاب هو تتمة لسيرة حياة مؤسس السعودية الملك عبد العزيز، التي بدأ كتابتها التويجري في كتابه: \"لسراة الليل هتف الصباح\". وفيه توثيق هام لرسائل بين الملك عبد العزيز والشريف حسين وغيره، لم يعتمد فيه الكاتب، في مصادر وثائقه، على مؤرخين سعوديين، بل اختارهم من غير السعودية توخيا للموضوعية، وكانت وظيفته دور ساعي البريد على حد تعبيره وإن تقصد أن يطرح أكثر من سؤال وعلامة استفهام عن دور تلك الحقبة ومسؤوليتها في ما آل إليه اليوم العالم العربي من وهن وتشتت.
