يتناول هذا الكتاب الطائفة اليهودية في مصر من حيث دراسة أوضاع اليهود خلال هذه الفترة حيث أن لهذه الفترة أهمية كبيرة حيث وقعت فيها عدة أحداث تاريحية متشابكة أثر كل منها في الآخر فمنها ما هو متعلق بتاريخ مصر وما هو متعلق بتاريخ اليهود وأخيرا منها ما هو متعلق بتاريخ العالم فبالنسبة للأحداث المتعلقة بتاريخ مصر على سبيل المثال وقوعها تحت براثن الاحتلال البريطاني سنة 1882 ثم انسلاخ مصر عن الدولة العثمانية سنة 1914 وما ترتب على هذا الانسلاخ من تغير سياسي واجتماعي واقتصادي في البلاد ثم تلا ذلك حصول مصر على الاستقلال الذي تضمنه تصريح 28 فبراير سنة 1922 وعقد معاهدة الصداقة والتحالف مع بريطانيا سنة 1936 وما ترتب على هذه المعاهدة من دخول مصر الحرب العالمية الثانية رغم أنفها.
