يعد كتاب الصحاح، هو معجم للمصطلحات العربية ألفه الإمام أبو نصر إسماعيل بن حماد الجوهري ويعد كتاب الصحاح هو أقدم ما صنف في العربية من معاجم الألفاظ مرتب على الأبواب والفصول فقد جعل الجوهري حروف الهجاء أبوابا وجعل لكل حرف من هذه الأبواب فصلا بعدد حروف الهجاء ويقع هذا التقسيم على ما هو واقع في آخر الكلام فما يقع في آخر سين.
