هذا الكتاب من أخطر الكتب وأكثرها إثارة في تاريخ مصر في القرن العشرين صدر سنة 1988 وطبع 6 طبعات في ثلاثة أشهر وحقق مبيعات لم يحققها كتاب آخر وتم منعه وسحبه من الأسواق بحكم قضائي من احدى المحاكم المصرية. الكتاب للمؤلفة (إعتماد خورشيد) زوجة صلاح نصر رئيس المخابرات المصرية في عهد ثورة يوليو وحتى نكسة 1967، والكتاب يتعرض لانحراف السلطة الأخلاقي وعلاقة ذلك الانحراف بأهل الفن وبالرغم من أن المؤلفة تذكر الحروف الأولى لأسماء بعض الفنانات إلا أن تلك الحروف تنطق بأسماء أصحابها، والكتاب مدعم ببعض الصور والتعليقات عليها.
