يتحدث هذا الكتاب \"أصول التفكير النحوي\" عن أن هناك شبه إجماع على تأثر النحو العربي بالمنطق الأرسطي أو الفلسفة اليونانية عامة وفي هذا القرن خاصة يبعث الظن بأن النحاة اكتفوا ببيان المقولات الأرسطية وأن معطيات النحو في هذا القرن هي في أساسها تكييف لهذا الفكر وتلك الفلسفة وحدها وأن كثيرا من ممن يرمون النحو العربي بالخضوع للفكر غير العربي يخصون هذا القرن باستحكام هذا الأثر ويردون كل تجديد في النحو من حيث التبويب والتقسيم والميل إلى التيسير إلى آثار هذا القرن.
