صدر للأستاذ المساعد الدكتور حامد عبد الحمزة العلي التدريسي في كلية التربية للعلوم الإنسانية بجامعة بابل كتاب (المبسط في منهج البحث التاريخي). وذكر الدكتور العلي أن هذا الكتاب يعنى بمنهج البحث التاريخي في أقسام التاريخ، ويدرس هذا الكتاب في المرحلة الثانية في قسم التاريخ. وقد مثل هذا الكتاب أسهل الأساليب في كيفية كتابة البحث التاريخي. وأضاف الدكتور العلي أننا حاولنا فيه إيجاد طريقة توفيقية وباستعمال أكثر السبل المستعملة في مدارس منهج البحث التاريخي في الجامعات العراقية. ويعد الكتاب أساسيا في الدراسات العليا في أقسام التاريخ؛ لأنه يمثل الخطوات الإجرائية في كتابة البحث التاريخي.
