يبدأ الكاتب تدوين يومياته من مدينة الدار البيضاء قبل موعد السفر بعدها ينتقل لباريس ليأخذ طائرة أخرى تنقله لبيكين مباشرة ومثلما تنتقل الطائرة من بلد لآخر ينتقل الكاتب من زمن لآخر إذ هناك أجزاء يصف فيها رحلته للصين وأجزاء يسرد فيها ذكرياته في المغرب عن طريق تقنية الاسترجاع قام الكاتب بالإشارة لمجموعة مواضيع عن الحياة في الصين مثل التكنولوجيا والفن والمواصلات والعمارة ووضع المرأة العاملة في الصين وكيف أصبحت متواجدة في كافة المجالات ونقل لنا إيجابيات المجتمع الصيني على أمل أن نستفيد من تجربة الصينيين في النمو والأزدهار.
