في هذا الكتيب يجد القارئ سردا لسبع رحلات تمت إلى إحدى عشرة وجهة جرت أحداثها متفرقة في مدة زمنية امتدت لخمس سنوات سعيت فيها إلى تحقيق تلك المعادلة الصعبة لعلي أنفع القارئ المحب للسفر عن طريق إمداده بالمعلومات المتعلقة بالبلدان التي زرتها، وأمد أيضا القارئ المتذوق للأدب بطرف من الصور والاستعارات المجازية راجيا أن يكون ممن نجحوا في مجاراة ذائقة القراء. أشير أيضا إلى أن الكتابة جرت -في كل مرة- أثناء تجربة السفر أو بعد انتهائها مباشرة على مدى خمس سنوات ولذلك فقد يلاحظ القارئ تفاوتا في قوة الكتابة وفي مدى قدرتي على التخيل الأدبي، ويعود ذلك إلى تطور المرء فكريا وأدبيا في المدة الزمنية المذكورة. كذلك لا بد من الإشارة إلى أن الاختلاف في حجم المحتوى المكتوب في كل رحلة سببه تذبذب الحالة المزاجية للكاتب بين الإقبال بشغف على الكتابة أحيانا واستثقال هذه المهمة في أحيان أخرى.
