كتاب \"الصهيونية في روسيا القيصرية \" هو كتاب ذات أهمية بالغة، وسط جملة ما كتب عن الحركة الصهيونية منذ النشأة التائهة لهذه الحركة حتى الآن، ونقول النشأة التائهة، لأن الوقائع يؤكد أن القول الشائع حول ولادة الصهيونية في مؤتمر باله بسويسرا عام 1897، لم تكن سوى خرافة ترمي إلى إخفاء النشأة الحقيقية للصهيونية، والسادة الحقيقيين لها، حيث أن تيودور هرتزل لم يكن أبأ لها، ولا سيدا .. ومن هنا، كان يفسييف موفقا حين لم يعط للنشأة المزيفة شيئا من الاهتمام الخاص، وهو يستعرض تاريخ الصهيونية في روسيا القيصرية، مقدما أول دراسة تاريخية حول هذا الجانب من النشاط الصهيوني.
