يتحدث الكتاب عن حياة فدوى طوقان ولدت فدوى عبد الفتاح طوقان في قضاء نابلس في فلسطين العام 1917، في أسرة ثرية ومحافظة وراحت فدوى تمضي وقتها في المطالعة الحرة وقراءة دواوين الشعر التي كان يختارها لها شقيقها الشاعر إبراهيم طوقان نظمت عشرات القصائد والمقطوعات الشعرية فقررت أن ترسل واحدة منها إلى مجلة بيروتية أسمها (الأمالي) وحين وصلت القصيدة إلى المجلة احتفت بها أسرة التحرير ما شجعها على إرسال قصيدة ثانية وثالثة.
