يحتوي الكتاب على مجموعة من القصص الجميلة والمعبرة ومن أهمها ما يلي لم تمنع خوازيق المعارضة من وقف هدر أموال الدولة ولم ترغم هراوات الجندرمة سكان القرية من التوجه الى ساحة البلدة لاستقبل المسؤولين والتصفيق لهم ولم تتمكن بطاقتي الصحفية أيضا من تخفيف عقوبة السجن لمقالة صغيرة نشرتها في الصحف تتعلق بزعيمين، الأول طلق زوجته لعد إنجابها ولدا ذكرا والثاني لزواجه ثانية من مطلقته العاقر، بينما كنت أحاول إظهار حبي وعشقي لسيدة طلبت مني أن أعلمها كتابة القصص الساخرة وكانت بدورها تسخر من شخصيتي وحبي الوهمي لقد ترك والدي وصية تقول إياك يا بني أن تشتري لزوجتك جورباً ناعماً غالي الثمن لأن تعاستك تبدأ بهذا الجورب.
