Preliminary Study of Various Intervals and Administration of Feed Enriched with Turmeric and Garlic on the Growth Performance of Catfish
As a food ingredient, turmeric curcumin increases appetite and increases the effectiveness of digestive organs function, while garlic increases fish growth. The combination of the two ingredients is believed to increase growth and survival rate of catfish. This study aimed to determine growth performance, Food Conversion Ratio (FCR) and Survival Rate (SR) of catfish seeds in high density fish farming based on biofloc, and supplemented with turmeric and garlic for feed. The research methodology was a complete randomized design, and treated with T1: turmeric and garlic given once a week; T2: turmeric and garlic were given twice a week, and T3: turmeric and garlic were given three times a week. Fish weight was recorded every week, then data were analyzed for fish growth using regression. The study was conducted in 4 weeks. The results showed that the best weight growth performance was obtained at T1 with the regression equation YT1 = −1.07 + 17.92. This equation provides predictions that fish harvesting can be carried out within 6 weeks, with the average weight of fish measured at 100 grams and FCR = 0.91 ± 0.016 and SR = 88.45 ± 8.89%.
Analysis of carrying capacity of ponds in Tayu District, Pati Regency, Central Java, for a saline tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) strain, using the phosphorous budget model
Tilapia is the leading fish culture in Pati Regency. Tilapia cultivation area reaches 582 ha, with a productivity of 1-2 tons/ha/cycle. The Department of Maritime Affairs and Fisheries of Pati Regency targets the achievement of production in 2025 of ±5 tons/ha/production cycle. This research was conducted to assess the carrying capacity of cultivated ponds so that the planned production target can be achieved, while still paying attention to environmental sustainability. Observations were made on 9 aquaculture ponds in 3 villages in Tayu District, Pati Regency. Observations were made for 1 production cycle, ranging from 90 to 110 days. The data collected included land area, production, phosphorus concentration in water, feed and sediment, amount of feed, and volume of water turnover. The results showed that of the 9 ponds observed, only 2 ponds matched the carrying capacity, while the rest had exceeded the carrying capacity. The achievement of the production target of 5 tons/ha/retention cycle is carried out by improving water quality management, so that salinity and dissolved oxygen meet the requirements for tilapia cultivation, by reducing the P load from aquaculture activities, and by improving feeding management, so that feed utilization is more efficient and increases the rate of production of tilapia flushing by increasing the volume of water change.
Morphoanatomical indexes of female Siamese fighting fish Betta splendens under different photoperiod regimes
Photoperiod represents light manipulation to advance or delay reproduction in Siamese fighting fish (Betta splendens Regan, 1910). This study aimed to evaluate different photoperiod regimes against ovarian maturity of fish by examining morphoanatomical indexes. The female Siamese fighting fish underwent different photoperiod regimes, for 45 days, i.e. P1 (10h light, 14h dark), P2 (14h light, 10h dark), and P3 (ambient light as control). Morphoanatomical indexes were accessed through gonadosomatic index (GSI), hepatosomatic index (HSI), and viscerosomatic index (VSI), being corelated With vitellogenesis. Vitellogenesis was analyzed through ovarian histology preparations. Results showed that GSI, HSI, and VSI were statistically significantly different in P2 (38.25%, 24.61%, 34.93%). P1 (25.48%, 18.23%, 22.53%) and P3 (15.92%, 12.55%, 15.71%) were not different. These photoperiod regimes affected female morphoanatomical indexes. GSI, HSI, and VSI increased comparably with vitellogenesis. HSI and VSI promoted GSI at a high-level.
Return Cost Ratio Analysis on Seed Production N1 (Nursery 1) of Sangkuriang Catfish Variety (Clarias gariepinus burchell) With Different Stocking Density of Eggs Using Filtration System
The success of high density catfish cultivation increases seed demand to support the cultivation. Seed cultivation supported by clean water system has succeeded in producing N1 (Nursery 1) seed. The aim of the research was to analyze the production return cost ratio (R/C) and benefit of N1 seed (Nursery 1) of catfish varieties sangkuriangthe on various egg density in tanks using filtration system. The research was conducted in The Catfish Teaching Factory of Fisheries and Marine Science Faculty, Diponegoro University, from December 2017 to February 2018. The research was performed on seeds ofSangkuriang catfish varietieswhich were hatched and being observed for 17 days. The method of the research was experimental method with three treatments and three repetitions, namely T1 (density of egg: 50gr), T2 (density of egg : 60gr), and T3 (density of egg: 70gr).The seeds produced were sold, The price was 40 IDR per fish, the total income was analyzed with ANOVA, then proceed with the least difference test. The result showed that seed production performance recorded asT1 yielded seed = 25,321 seeds;T2 = 23,874 seeds and T3 = 21.952 seeds. The price of seeds per individual is 40 IDR,the best total revenue is T1 = 1,012,840 IDR, -; and then T3 = 954,960IDR andT2 = 878,080 IDR. The total cost T1 = 366,217.3 IDR;T3 = 356,217.3 IDR and P2 = 346,217.3 IDR. R/C calculation results show T1 = 2.77; T3 = 2.68 and T2 = 2.54, reach R/C ratio ≥ 1 indicates that the production of N1 (Nursery 1) Sangkuriang catfish with different stocking density of eggs using filtration system or clean water system wasvery profitable.
Growth Performance of Catfish (Clarias Gariepinus Burchell, 1822) Cultured in High Density on the Biofloc System
Start your The fish farmers and researchers have made efforts to increase catfish production through high levels of dispersal and application of biofloc systems. This system, in addition to increase production, can also predict when the harvest is done, control the quality of water causing death so that the Survival Rate (SR) is high. The purpose of this study is to determine the growth performance and predict the harvest weight and catfish survival rate (SR) that are cultured with different high density on the biofloc system. The research method used is experimental with test fish in the form of catfish seeds weighing of 8 ± 0.2 gram/fish with each density as treatment: P1. Density of 1,100 fish/m3; P2. Density of 1,200 fish/m3 and P3. Density of 1,300 fish/m3. Pond: The pond used is made of 3m in diameter of tarpaulin, equipped with a 6mm diameter of iron frame. Total volume of water in each pond is 3 m3. Catfish seeds have been adapted and put into the pond at random with the length of cultivation period is 4 weeks. Growth performance analysis uses the SPSS regression statistic series 20. The research results showed that the growth performance for 4 weeks showed that P1 generates the regression equation Y1 = 6.46 +7.81 X with r2 = 0.971 means that if the harvest is done at week 12th then the weight of catfish has reached 100 grams; P2 generates the regression equation Y2 = 6.53 + 6.0 X den r2 = 0.969 means if the harvest is done at week 12th then the weight of new catfish has reached 78.53 grams and P3 generates the regression equation Y3 = 6.71 + 5.94 X with r2 = 0.976 means if harvest is done on week 12th then the weight of new catfish has reached 77.99 grams. Survival rate at P1 = 97.73%; P2 = 95.91% and P3 = 94.55% while the oxygenated water quality is more than 3.5 ppm; pH ranged from 6.7-7 and ammonia content at week 3 is P1 = 0.04 mg/l; P2 = 0.13 mg/l and P3 = 0.27 mg/l.
The effect of periodical estradiol-17β injections with different doses on Java barb (Puntius javanicus) gonadal development
The aim of research was to determine the effect and the best dosage of estradiol-17β hormone on gonadal development of Java barb (Punctius javanicus). The subjects of this study were 10 months old 48 female (?) Java barb weighing ±200 gram. This research was done experimentally by applying a randomised design (CRD) with 4 treatments and 3 replications. Dosage treatments used were 0, 100, 200, 300 µg/kg body weight. The data observed include body weight, body length, gonado somatic Index (GSI), Gonado Maturation Stage (GMS), hepato somatic index (HSI), total protein plasma (TPP) and water quality. The results showed that the highest body weight was obtained at treatment C 21.42±1.23 g. The highest body length was on treatment C 1.17±0.18 cm. The highest percentage GSI was at treatment C 14.84±0.79%. Meanwhile, the highest GMS were treatment C and D as all samples reached GMS IV on the 30th day. The highest percentage of HSI was at treatment C 2.25±0.36%. Treatment TTP A ranged 4.2-4.6 gr/dL, B 4.4 - 5.4 gr/dL, C 4.4-5.7 gr/dL, and D 4.5-5.8 gr/dL. The water quality of cultivation media was in the proper range at the temperature 26.5-28°C, DO 3-4,1, and pH 7-8. This research concluded that estradiol-17β injection had a significant effect (P<0.05) on body weight gain, GSI, HSI, yet it has not significant effect on body length. The best treatment is treatment C dose of 200 µg/kg body weight.
The Effect of Different Stocking Density of Eggs on The Production of Sangkuriang Catfish Seeds (Clarias gariepinus Burchell 1822) by Using Filtration System
This study aims to determine the production capacity of sangkuriang catfish (Clarias gariepinus) with different high egg density in ponds using filtration system. The research is held in Hatchery Fisheries and Marine Science Faculty, Diponegoro University Semarang on December 2017 - January 2018. The test fish used was sangkuriang catfish eggs that hatch and then maintained with maintenance time for 17 days. This research used experimental method with Completely Randomized Design, consisting of 3 treatments with 3 replications i.e, P1 (egg 50 g), P2 (egg 60 g), and P3 (egg 70 g). Variables which was measured include fertilization rate (FR), hatching rate (HR), absolute length growth (L), absolute weight growth (WG), specific growth rate (SGR), production (ind) and water quality. Data were analyzed by multiform analysis, then Duncan double area test to know the difference between treatment to determine the best treatment. The results showed that the different density of the stocked eggs had significant effect (P<0.05) on the HR, L and WG, SGR, SR and production, but no significant effect (P> 0.05) on FR. Treatment P1 showed the best result with value of FR was 92.6 ± 2.10%, HR was 91.33 ± 0.42%, L was 1.50 ± 0.10 cm, WG was 0.13 ± 0.01 gr, SGR was 22.9 ± 0.55%/day, and seed production was 25,323 ± 345.01 ind.
Production Performance of Sangkuriang Catfish (Clarias gariepinus Burchell-1822) N-2 (Nursery-2) Cultured on Recirculation System with Different Filter Media
Sangkuriang catfish (Claris gariepinus Burchell-1822) is one type of freshwater fish that has been widely cultivated in the community. This study was to investigate the production performance of sangkuriang catfish N-2 (nursery-2) cultured on recirculation system witch different filter media. The test fish used were 17 days old with a density of 7,000/2 m3 each with a 20-day maintenance time. This research was conducted using an experimental method and a complete randomized design consisting of 3 treatments and 3 replications. The treatments are P1 (Kaldnes 100%), P2 (Kaldnes 50% and Bioball 50%) and P3 (Bioball 100%). The data observed included growth (SGR,%/day) survival rate (SR,%), production (fish), Feed Convertion Ratio (FCR), and water quality. Growth performance was carried out by linear regression test. The results showed that the performance of SGR, SR and production were the highest in P1. With the respective values as follows; The regression test results in absolute weight were Y1 = 0.060 + (-0.121)x and the value of r2 = 0.921 with a weight of 1.29 ± 0.02 gram, while at absolute length were Y1 = 0.176 + 1.480x and r2 = 0.988 with length 3.87 ± 0.15cm, SGR of 15.86 ± 0.55% / day, SR of 97.85 ± 0.74% and seed production of 6849 ± 51.73 fish. The result of Volumetric TAN removal rate (g/m3/day) at P1 is higher with a value of 1.19 ± 0.39, compared to P2 and P3 which have a lower value of 1.11 ± 0.19 and 0, 81 ± 0.16 g/m3/day.
Structured Counselor–Teacher Collaboration as an Interdisciplinary Model for Enhancing Inclusive School Climate: A Quasi-Experimental Study
Inclusive education requires not only classroom-level adaptations but also coordinated interdisciplinary practices that strengthen the institutional conditions supporting diverse learners. However, counselor–teacher collaboration in many schools remains informal and episodic, limiting its potential contribution to an inclusive school climate. This study evaluated the effectiveness of a 12-week Structured Counselor–Teacher Collaboration (SCTC) program designed as a cyclical and replicable interdisciplinary model. A multi-site cluster quasi-experimental design with matched non-equivalent control groups was implemented in 12 public inclusive junior secondary schools in Yogyakarta, Indonesia (6 intervention; 6 control), involving 360 teachers (n = 180 per condition) and 24 school counselors as facilitators. Teachers completed the 35-item Inclusive School Climate Scale (ISCS) at pre-test and post-test. Data were analyzed using two-level linear mixed-effects modeling (teachers nested within schools) with pre-test scores as covariates. Results showed that the intervention significantly improved inclusive school climate compared with routine practice (B = 0.41, p < 0.001), yielding a moderate-to-large adjusted effect (Hedges’ g = 0.76). Dimension-level models indicated the largest gains in collaborative professional culture and perceived belonging. Implementation fidelity was high (82–91%). These findings suggest that institutionalizing structured counselor–teacher collaboration can serve as a promising approach for enhancing inclusive school climate in secondary school contexts.
Design of plant pest spraying machines using solar cell power
Plant pest spraying machines are now starting to develop using a variety of technologies ranging from diesel to electric power. However, this technology has problems such as limited fuel capacity in diesel engines and a lack of electricity demand for electric batteries. If the sprayed area is too large, the capacity for fuel and battery requirements is insufficient. In this study, we will explain how to apply solar cells to make a plant pest spraying machine so that when spraying will occur simultaneously the process of charging or charging the battery by solar power So that the need for battery capacity is met for spraying over a large area. The process of making this tool is done by assembling several components such as solar panels, SCC (solar charge controller), spray tanks and lithium batteries.
