Excellence in global supply chain management : understanding and improving global supply chains
This book explores and explains the critical elements of Supply Chain Management, including Understanding the Supply Chain and Supply Chain Planning and Operations, as well as Alternative Approaches and how to improve. The book is intended for: a- professional managers in all supply chain roles and job positions; b- academics such as lecturers or students studying business topics like procurement, logistics, distribution, and the supply chain; and c- students of professional institutes such as the Chartered Institute of Logistics and Transport, The Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply. The style of the book is direct, with little jargon. It covers all the basics, as well as providing detailed and wider discussions to encourage thought. Practical application remains a central theme, illustrated by the extensive use of case studies, application checklists and visual and graphic illustrations.
Barry Crocker
2003
IT WAS back in 1977 when I was working in Las Vegas. My career was burgeoning. I was doing all sorts of stuff -- appearing with Jerry Lewis on TV, that sort of thing. In the middle of all this the AFL got in touch with my agent and invited me to come to Melbourne to sing the new national anthem at the AFL Grand Final. This was pretty special for me, being a failed football star from Geelong. I write about that in my autobiography, The Adventures of [Barry Crocker] -- how I played with the Geelong thirds and wanted to follow in the footsteps of my football heroes.

The Emergence of Hotel/Lodging Real Estate Research
2015
Research related to the real estate aspects of hotels and other lodging forms is an understudied but emerging area of academic study. Real estate education and research in most collegiate real estate programs historically have focused on the traditional forms of real estate (i.e., office buildings, retail centers, industrial buildings, apartment complexes, and other housing forms); rarely is the study of hotels and other lodging forms addressed. Nevertheless, hotels and other lodging properties (e.g., motels) constitute a major, albeit specialized, real estate property type that is under researched in most university real estate programs. In this paper, we provide a more comprehensive perspective from which real estate faculty may think about hotel/lodging real estate.

Learning disabled adolescents rated each other, and were rated by non-disabled classmates and teachers within special education and lower track mainstreamed classes. Results demonstrated that, while disabled subjects were generally less well liked than their peers, a subgroup of the disabled sample was very well regarded. Additionally, most of the remaining disabled subjects were rated in the neutral, rather than the disliked range. Behavioral differences between disabled and nondisabled, and popular versus unpopular disabled subjects were also examined. Comparisons of ratings by teachers in mainstreamed and special education classes revealed that special education teachers tended to view disabled students as less socially, but more academically competent than did teachers in mainstreamed classrooms. Additional areas related to social adaptation, such as ratio of disabled to nondisabled students in a class and social decoding ability, were also examined and discussed.
