The governance, if not control, of water has become an increasingly critical subject. Artisterium 2017

In November 2017, the tenth edition of the annual \"Artisterium\" exhibition was held at the Tbilisi History Museum under the Georgian National Museum, with additional programs at other venues. Curated by its founder Magda Guruli, funding came from the United States Embassy in Tbilisi, New York's Parsons School of Design, the Goethe-Institut Georgien and many others. The exhibition was \"dedicated to the dialogue between visual arts, craft and design,\" and gathered diverse participants of some 45 visual artists and artist groups, performers and other practitioners mostly from Georgia. The majority of the exhibition was held at the History Museum.

'Face of the Gods' and 'Sacred Arts of Haitian Vodou,' two exhibitions at The Museum for African Art, New York, NY, contain religious arts of the African and Afro American cultures focused on altars. Robert Farris Thompson, curator of 'Face of the Gods,' believes that altars are places of divine focus and concentration. Considering the altars of the Andes or the Muslims, it becomes clear that the altars stand for the divine themselves. Instead of being the attributes of the object, the rituals associated with it are central to the belief in the divine.
