Impact of Harmala \Peganum Harmala, L.\ Seeds on Biological, Biochemical and Histopathological Alternations of Alloxan-Induced Diabetic Rats
The goal of the current study was to ascertain the effects of Harmala seed powder and extract rats that had been given alloxan to induce diabetes. Thirty-six white randoms weighing between 140 and 150 g were randomly divided into two main groups of six. Group I was the randomized control group, while Group II received a single intra-cage injection of the diabetic medication alloxan (150 mg/kg b.wt.). Next, the diabetic rats in Group II were randomly divided into seven subgroups: For four weeks, groups 3-6 received the ordinary food plus 2.5 and 5% Harmala seed powder, as well as 250 and 500 mg/kg. Group 2, the diabetic group serving as the positive control, received only the standard diet. Twenty-eight days after the trial started samples were analyzed. The obtained data showed that the studied plants (P ≤ 0.05) decreased serum sugar, Low density lipoprotein (LDL-c), and High-density lipoprotein (HDL-c) (101.70 ᵉ ± 3.12, 29.71 ᵉ ± 1.17, 45.90 ᵇ ± 1.34 when compared to the control positive group. The plants under study also improved blood parameters, liver, and kidney function. Liver enzymes Alanine aminotransferase (ALT), Aspartate aminotransferase (AST), Alkaline phosphatase (ALP) (90.73ᶜ ± 1. 153.61ᶜ ± 2.5542, 154.52ᶜ ± 2.61). According to our research, the powdered Harmala seeds and their extract include several potent phytochemical substances that may help reduce side effects and regulate diabetic rats.
Chemical characteristics and Biological Activity of Pomegranate Seeds and Red Beet in Hypercholesterolemia Rats
Fruits and vegetables are capable of providing additional physiological benefits, including preventing or delaying the onset of a range of chronic diseases. In this study used of some phytosterols and antioxidants from Pomegranate seeds and Red Beet sources to reduce the harmful effects and work to inhibit some of the biological changes caused by oxidized cholesterol in the rats. This can be achieved by feeding adult male albino rats (20 rats) of average weight (150 ± 10g) randomly divided into two main groups. The results showed that when fed experimental diets, it had an effective effect on blood lipid levels and had the ability to reduce low-density lipoprotein (LDL), liver and kidney functions, oxidative stress, and histopathological examination of the liver and kidneys. It can be concluded that red beets and pomegranate seeds are considered to have excellent nutritional quality. They are a great source of health-promoting polyphenols in terms of their antioxidant properties. In addition, they have a positive effect on blood glucose and cholesterol levels and improve the level of liver and kidney enzymes.
The Chemical and Biological Effect of Dried Date Palm Levels on Rats with Immunity Deficiency
Immune deficiency is the term for any several disorders in which the immune system loses some or all of its capacity to resist infectious illness. In some instances, immunological deficiency might impair the body's capacity to carry out its normal role of combating cancer-causing cells. This research objects to study the some chemical parameters of dried date palm pollen (Phoenix dactylifera L.) El-Hayani cultivar and its effect on biological and biochemical parameters of male albino rats treated with sandimmune syrup as immunity inhibitor. In addition to chemical ingredients, mineral content, total polyphenols, and total flavonoids, the chemical compounds of dried Palm pollen were also studied. Thirty male albino rats their weight was 180± 10 g. were allocated into 5 groups. The first was negative control (-), the second group was rates treated with 5mg of sandimmune syrup for 7 days to inhibit the immunity. Groups 3,4 and 5 were treated with the same inhibitor and received 100,150 and 200 g/kgbw dried date palm pollen, respectively. At the end of the experiment (28 d), their weight,feed intake, FER and some organs weight were calculated. Also, blood specimens were taken for analysis of serum glucose, lipids profile and liver enzymes, immunoglobulin production, interleukin 1, interleukin 6 and tumor necrosis factors, antioxidants activity compounds, white blood cell and lymphocytes. Results showed that dried date pollen (DDP) had high protein, vital minerals as calcium and iron, total polyphenols and flavonoids components. Also, it had significantly positive effect on the tested biochemical parameters as serum glucose,Lipids profile, liver functions and immunity response especially at the level 200g/kgbw. Therefore, the dried date palm pollen 200g/kgbw followed by 150 g/kgbw in the diet are more effective compared with controlling immunity deficiency. Infectious patients are encouraged to consume date palm pollen, which is regarded an immunity-boosting meal.
الخصائص المورفووظيفية لعضلة القلب المميزة للرياضيين من 10 - 12 سنة
تهدف الدراسة إلى التعرف على الخصائص الموروفووظيفية لعضلة القلب المميزة للرياضيين من 10 -12 سنة واشتملت عينة الدراسة على 30 طفل تتراوح أعمارهم من 10-12 سنة مقسمين إلى مجموعتين؛ المجموعة الأولى: ممارسين للرياضة (الرياضيين) وعددهم 15 (3جمباز-4 كاراتيه -3 كرة قدم -3 تنس طاولة -2 سباحة) ويشترط ألا يقل العمر التدريبي عن 4 سنوات. المجموعة الثانية: أطفال من نفس العمر غير ممارسين للرياضة بشكل منتظم وتم اختيارهم بالطريقة العشوائية استخدمت الباحثة المنهج الوصفي واستخدمت الباحثة القياسات الانثروبومترية والقياسات المورفولوجية لعضلة القلب المميزة للرياضيين هي دليل كتلة البطين الأيسر (جرام/م2) وبعد البطين الأيمن في نهاية الانبساط (سم) وسمك الحاجز بين البطينين في الانقباض (سم) وفتحة الصمام الأورطي (سم) وبعد البطين اليسر في نهاية الانبساط (سم). كما أن الخصائص الوظيفية لعضلة القلب المميزة للرياضيين هي معدل القلب (ضربة/ق) ومعدل التقصير الجزئي (FS%) ونسبة سرعة الامتلاء المبكر إلى سرعة الامتلاء المتأخر (A/ ratio E).
تحليل الجفاف المناخي وأثره في الغطاء النباتي في محافظة واسط باستخدام مؤشر SPI وقرينتي BSI و CI
تتصف المناطق الجافة وشبه الجافة بتكرار حالات الجفاف المناخي، مما أعطاه اهتماما كبيرا في الفترة الأخيرة نتيجة لتأثيره المباشر والسلبي على الأنشطة الزراعية والاقتصادية. اعتمدت الدراسة على بيانات أربع محطات مناخية (بدرة، العزيزية، الكوت، الحي) للمدة (1993-2022) ماعدا محطة بدرة، إذ تم التسجيل فيها عام 1994، تم استخراج قيم مؤشر المطر القياسي (SPI) للمدة (1992-2022) للمحطات المدروسة، إذ جاءت فئة معتدل الرطوبة بأعلى تكرارا بلغ 15 موسم في محطة الكوت، بنسبة (29.4%)، تلتها فئة معتدل الجفاف إذ سجلت أعلى تكرار في محطة العزيزية بواقع 11 تكرار، بنسبة (33.3%). ولتوضيح أثر الجفاف المناخي في الغطاء النباتي تم استخدام القرائن والمؤشرات الطيفية. إذ سجلت حسب مؤشر (CI) مساحة فئة الترب الجرداء بنحو (4318) كم² بنسبة (24.4%) من مساحة منطقة الدراسة للعام 1993، في حين زادت مساحة نفس الفئة (الترب الجرداء) فسجلت مساحة (7044) كم² بنسبة (39.8%) من إجمالي المساحة للعام 2022، كما سجلت حسب مؤشر (BSI) فئة الترب الجرداء العارية مساحة قدرها (4793) كم²، بنسبة (27.1%) من المساحة للمنطقة للعام 1993، وزادت أيضا مساحة نفس الفئة للعام 2022، إذ سجلت مساحة قدرها (7693) كم² بنسبة (43.5%) من إجمالي المساحة.
