A career education program for early childhood youth: Development and initial evaluation
Fostering occupational knowledge during early childhood could help build a foundation for more sophisticated future knowledge of the world of work. Thus, we developed and initially evaluated the effectiveness of a career education program designed to promote occupational knowledge of kindergarten children. Participants were 133 Italian kindergarten children with a mean age of 4.62 years (SD = 0.47) who were randomly assigned to an experimental or control group. Results indicated that, compared to the control group, the experimental group experienced a significantly greater overall increase in occupational knowledge after the intervention. Results of social validity measures indicated that parents and teachers of the experimental group perceived the intervention very favorably in terms of its goals, acceptability and usability of the procedures, and outcomes. The study results provide initial support for the potential of the career education program to promote understanding of the world of work and occupations in early childhood.

Effect of Embedded Careers Education in Science Lessons on Students’ Interest, Awareness, and Aspirations
In the last decades, secondary school students have indicated a low interest in science and a lack of awareness of authentic science careers that may impede their aspiration to work in science-related fields in future. To raise students’ aspirations, several studies used context-based approaches, but few integrated career aspects into the school curricula. Accordingly, this study aimed to promote lower secondary school students’ interest in and awareness of science careers by introducing science career-related scenarios reflected in a real-world context as embedded careers education in science lessons. In this study, we explored the effect of the interventions on students’ interest, awareness, and aspirations towards science careers using Estonian, Finnish, and German datasets. According to the results, the students participating in the project indicated a higher interest in science, aspiration towards science careers, and awareness of future careers than those who did not experience the embedded science career interventions. Also, the results showed that when students got more information about science careers at school, their interest in science was more easily transferred to their aspirations in science studies and careers. Thus, this result emphasizes the importance of fostering awareness of science careers at lower secondary schools in order to inspire young learners to engage in science studies and works in future.

Career Education Skills and Career Adaptability among College Students in China: The Mediating Role of Career Decision-Making Self-Efficacy
In the past, the shift in career patterns and the unprecedented disruptions caused by events such as COVID-19 have posed notable challenges for job seekers. This holds particularly true for college students who are preparing to enter the workforce. In this context, enhancing career adaptability plays a vital role in shaping their career development. The primary objective of this research was to investigate the relationship between career education skills and career adaptability among 273 undergraduate students in China. Additionally, the study aimed to explore the mediating effect of career decision-making self-efficacy in shaping this relationship. The findings of the correlation analysis indicate a significant positive correlation between career education skills and career adaptability. Moreover, the results of the mediation model revealed that career education skills significantly contribute to improving career adaptability along with the mediating effect of college students’ self-efficacy in making career decisions. This study suggests that universities should prioritize the development and expansion of career education initiatives. They should not only help establish clear career goals for college students but also cultivate a positive and flexible career outlook to assist them in better adapting to various changes that may arise throughout their career journeys.
