Blue Jays fans on the edge of their seats for a monumental game tonight
[WENDY MESLEY], there is -- there are a lot of very excited, very loud fans in that stadium behind me tonight. They came here hoping that their team would do something it has not done in its franchise history and that is sweep a post-season series. Winning against the Texas Rangers in the third game of the five games of the series would do that. It would give them a ticket to advance to the American League Championship Series which is as far as they got last post-season. Things started out really great for the Blue Jays.

As rescuers raise ladders over the rubble of one partially collapsed building in southern Taiwan, they could hear the desperate calls of people trapped inside. Taiwanese television showed a number of people rescued from what was left of their homes.
James Forcillo says he shot Yatim because he thought teen was about to attack
He said he fired that first volley of shots because he saw that [Sammy Yatim] was armed with a knife and believed Yatim was heading off the streetcar towards him. He testified he fired the second volley of shots because he believed Yatim was getting up to continue his approach. But the jury has already heard the bullet to the heart that fatally wounded Yatim was in that first volley. Most of the rest of [James Forcillo]'s testimony today centered on his training at the Ontario Police College and with the Toronto Police Service on how to deal with knife-wielding suspects.
Blue Jays fans hoping for the re-creation of '92 and '93
Strong pitching wins championships, making [Dave Stewart]'s addition a key move for the '93 Jays. Today's Jays have brought in David Price, another game changer, turning Toronto's current pitching line-up into one to be feared. Whether the similarities between these Jays and those Jays stop there, or continue on right to the end, well, fans will just have to wait to find out. The playoffs start next week, [PETER MANSBRIDGE].
Via Rail jury reaches partial verdict, deliberations to continue
[WENDY MESLEY], the jury's note to the judge declares that they have reached unanimous verdicts for all of the charges against one of the accused, but for only two of the charges against the other. For that accused, the jury declares that they have reached an impasse on all of the remaining charges.

Shocking developments tonight as reports emerge of new graphic recordings of Toronto Mayor [Rob Ford]. They're allegedly compromising and amid all this, Ford himself has announced through his lawyer he's taking leave to address his substance abuse problem. But he'll still be in the race for re-election. The CBC's Ron Charles is following this story. So, Ron, let's take this step by step. There's a couple of reports. One of them is about a new video. Tell us about that.
Don Cherry praises Leafs fans for peaceful celebrations
Take a look at that. It may be skating-rink-cold outside Toronto's Air Canada Centre, but the city's mid-May freeze hasn't stopped these playoff-starved Leafs fans.
