Racehorse trainers Great Britain Biography.
2015
This is the rollercoaster story of a great love, between racehorse trainer, Henrietta Knight and her husband, Terry Biddlecombe. It is a story of triumph and tragedy in equal measures, as together they trained the great Best Mate to win three consecutive Cheltenham Gold Cups, before the horse's shocking death in 2005 and Terry's in 2014. Henrietta and Terry were an unusual pairing: she a bluestocking biology teacher, he a hell-raising ex-champion jockey, with alcoholism and two failed marriages behind him. After Terry died, Best Mate's owner said, 'They were known as the odd couple, but in actual fact there was nothing odd about them at all. They were simply madly in love with each other.' Now, for the first time, Henrietta tells not only their story, but the story of Best Mate's tragic death, which changed their lives forever.

Racehorse trainers Great Britain Biography
2010
\"Nomadic racehorse trainer Rod Simpson has had a flamboyant, colourful and at times highly controversial career as a racehorse trainer. He has lived life to the full and is currently pitching his tent in the desert sands of Abu Dhabi. His autobiography tells the story of how the boy from a humble home in Croydon, south London, ended up training for oil-rich sheiks in the Persian Gulf. Simpson's tale is a classic nags-to-riches story with more twists and turns than an Agatha Christie plot. His story takes you from his modest beginnings to establishing his several training careers. It involves police investigations, spectacular betting coups led by one of his owners, the legendary Terry Ramsden, falling foul of the racing establishment, his subsequent fine and debts, leading to his driving a truck at Heathrow airport to pay these off, his comeback and unorthodox and at time highly amusing antics. 'Rodders' has now established a new chapter in his life and is a highly successful trainer in the Gulf\"--Publisher description.
