2024
Artificial Intelligence (AI) has gained attention in tourism, which requires its sustainability. Our study focuses on a bibliometric analysis of AI in sustainable tourism using 174 manuscripts from 2000 to 2022. One of the main findings is that 'intelligence' appears frequently, followed by related terms such as work, performance, resources, sustainability, impact, optimization and management. There is no previous evidence on AI in the context of sustainable tourism to explain how public managers or politicians design public policies to create and improve resource efficiency.

Thinking machines : the quest for artificial intelligence--and where it's taking us next
\"A fascinating look at Artificial Intelligence, from its humble Cold War beginnings to the dazzling future that is just around the corner. When most of us think about Artificial Intelligence, our minds go straight to cyborgs, robots, and sci-fi thrillers where machines take over the world. But the truth is that Artificial Intelligence is already among us. It exists in our smartphones, fitness trackers, and refrigerators that tell us when the milk will expire. In some ways, the future people dreamed of at the World's Fair in the 1960s is already here. We're teaching our machines how to think like humans, and they're learning at an incredible rate. In Thinking Machines, technology journalist Luke Dormehl takes you through the history of AI and how it makes up the foundations of the machines that think for us today. Furthermore, Dormehl speculates on the incredible--and possibly terrifying--future that's much closer than many would imagine. This remarkable book will invite you to marvel at what now seems commonplace and to dream about a future in which the scope of humanity may need to widen to include intelligent machines\"-- Provided by publisher.

2020
Transient stability is important in power systems. Disturbances like faults need to be segregated to restore transient stability. A comprehensive review of fault diagnosing methods in the power transmission system is presented in this paper. Typically, voltage and current samples are deployed for analysis. Three tasks/topics; fault detection, classification, and location are presented separately to convey a more logical and comprehensive understanding of the concepts. Feature extractions, transformations with dimensionality reduction methods are discussed. Fault classification and location techniques largely use artificial intelligence (AI) and signal processing methods. After the discussion of overall methods and concepts, advancements and future aspects are discussed. Generalized strengths and weaknesses of different AI and machine learning-based algorithms are assessed. A comparison of different fault detection, classification, and location methods is also presented considering features, inputs, complexity, system used and results. This paper may serve as a guideline for the researchers to understand different methods and techniques in this field.

2019
With the breakthroughs in artificial intelligence technology and the rapid development of intelligent manufacturing, industry and artificial intelligence (AI) are gradually being deeply integrated. On the basis of artificial intelligence, we systematically expounded the generation, definition, characteristics, classification, technical system, and current situation of industrial artificial intelligence (I-AI). Combining existing research and industrial projects, we propose a detailed framework and a reference model for I-AI in industry. The framework contains seven dimensions: objects of I-AI, domain of I-AI, application stages of I-AI, application requirements of I-AI, intelligent technology of I-AI, intelligent function of I-AI, and solutions of I-AI. Secondly, based on the application scenarios of artificial intelligence and industrial convergence, we propose a detailed overall planning for I-AI. Finally, five typical industrial fields are selected, and the I-AI solutions based on TFV (technology and function integration in industrial value chain) unit and 6W1H method are used for new application scenarios of the proposed framework. In addition, a detailed case of implementing for I-AI in port equipment industry is given. The research results of this paper have achieved good results in the related industrial field and can provide some reference for other industrial enterprises to plan, design, implement, and apply artificial intelligence.

2015
\"The Internet is usually considered a breakthrough in technological--and even social--progress. The promises that it holds for our future are discussed in terms of an utopian vision--intelligent, helpful robots, enhanced brain function, disease-and-famine ridding nanotechnology, and other positive benefits. But there's another, rarely discussed and far darker possibility. As [this book] argues, we may be racing towards our own annihilation, as the military, academia, and corporate advances in artificial intelligence may lead to an uncontrollable new lifeform far smarter and more powerful than we can imagine\"-- Provided by publisher.
Diagnosis of Tooth Prognosis Using Artificial Intelligence
2022
The accurate diagnosis of individual tooth prognosis has to be determined comprehensively in consideration of the broader treatment plan. The objective of this study was to establish an effective artificial intelligence (AI)-based module for an accurate tooth prognosis decision based on the Harvard School of Dental Medicine (HSDM) comprehensive treatment planning curriculum (CTPC). The tooth prognosis of 2359 teeth from 94 cases was evaluated with 1 to 5 levels (1—Hopeless, 5—Good condition for long term) by two groups (Model-A with 16, and Model-B with 13 examiners) based on 17 clinical determining factors selected from the HSDM-CTPC. Three AI machine-learning methods including gradient boosting classifier, decision tree classifier, and random forest classifier were used to create an algorithm. These three methods were evaluated against the gold standard data determined by consensus of three experienced prosthodontists, and their accuracy was analyzed. The decision tree classifier indicated the highest accuracy at 0.8413 (Model-A) and 0.7523 (Model-B). Accuracy with the gradient boosting classifier and the random forest classifier was 0.6896, 0.6687, and 0.8413, 0.7523, respectively. Overall, the decision tree classifier had the best accuracy among the three methods. The study contributes to the implementation of AI in the decision-making process of tooth prognosis in consideration of the treatment plan.
