Mohammed bin Rashid Library participates in the Earth Day event to educate visitors about the importance of curbing climate change
In line with its strategy to educate the public about the importance of environmental conservation and curbing climate change, the Mohammed bin Rashid Library (MBRL) participated in the Earth Day, the largest global event dedicated to combating climate change, by turning off non-essential electric lights in its main building and key facilities between 08:30 pm and 09:30 pm. In addition of organizing a story telling session for the visitors of the Children’s Library entitled “Turn Off the Lights” by writer Maitha Khayyat, followed by a discussion on how to preserve the environmental resources and achieve sustainability.
The initiative is part of the Library’s efforts to support sustainability and environmental protection, while encouraging the community to adopt sustainable lifestyles, in line with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Dubai, aiming at safeguarding the environment and preserving natural resources for present and future generations.
