تحكي القصة أنه بعد مقتل \"هابيل\" حزن \"آدم\" عليه السلام على تلك الجريمة وتكاثرت البشرية حتى قيل إن \"حواء\" ولدت لآدم أربعين ولدا وانقسم البشر إلى فريق صالح يسير على نهج هابيل وآخر طالح يسير على نهج \"قابيل\" ابني آدم ولما حضر آدم الموت عاهد \"شيث\" فأوصاه ووعظه وعهد له أن يسير على النهج القويم وحين ورد ذكر النبي \"إدريس\" عليه السلام وصفه الله تعالى بأنه الصديق النبي وأنه صاحب المكانة العالية التي رفعه الله إليها وسبب رفع الله لنبيه إدريس ( مكانا عليا ) كثرة أعماله الصالحة التي كانت ترفع إلى الله سبحانه وتعالى ويسرد البيان الإلهي طائفة من أخبار عدد من الأنبياء \"كإبراهيم\" و\"موسى\" و\"هارون\" وغيرهم وأنهم جميعا كانوا من الصابرين.
