هذا الكتاب دراسة منهجية لأثر الثقافة في الطفل العربي، وسعي علمي لتحليل مصادر هذه الثقافة، ومحاولة لاكتشاف موهبة الطفل ورعايتها، وتدقيق في تنمية القراءة والتذوق عنده، وبيان لعلاقة لغة الطفل بالتلفاز، وتحديد لأساليب غرس القيم في النصوص المقدمة له، وخصوصا القصة والمسرح والشعر ويسعى الكتاب في الوقت نفسه إلى تنمية أسس البحث عن الطفل وإلى التنبيه على أن ثقافة الطفل لا تنفصل عن ثقافة مجتمعه، وإن كانت ثقافة نوعية تراعي حقوق الطفل واستقلاليته.
