يعتني هذا الكتاب في جانب مهم من جوانب النثر الأندلسي هو الرسائل وهي الرسائل التي تمتاز بطابعها القصصي ويطمح كما أراد له مؤلفه الدكتور خليل محمد إبراهيم إلى أن يجيب بتجرد ممكن عما إذا كان في أدب الرسائل الأندلسية ملامح قصصية وإذا وجدت مثل هذه الملامح فهل ترتقي إلى أن تصبح قصصا أو حكايات وبغرض دراسة الملامح القصصية في الرسائل الأندلسية من (القرن الخامس إلى القرن الثامن) وزع المؤلف دراسته إلى مقدمة ومفهومات تمهيدية وبابين وخاتمة وخلاصة باللغة الإنكليزية مع قائمة المصادر والمراجع.
