Overview
الأساطير الكنعانية تعتبر بحق أساطير الصراع بين الخصب والجدب، فهي تدور في أغلب مواضيعها حول ذلك الموضوع. ولذلك أهملت الأساطير الكنعانية الحديث عن الكواكب ولم تتعامل مع مظاهرها، إلا بما ينفع الخصب والجدب، على عكس الأساطير الأمورية ذات الطابع الكواكبي، والأساطير الآرامية المهتمة بجدل النور والظلام. ورغم استحالة الفصل بين الأديان الأمورية والكنعانية والآرامية، ورغم أن جذور الآلهة والأساطير الكنعانية تغطس عميقا في التربة الأمورية، وأن ثمارها تتساقط على الأرض الآرامية، إلا أننا في كتابنا هذا آثرنا التركيز على الآلهة .. والأساطير الكنعانية، رغم قدوم بعضها من الماضي الأموری، واندماجها لاحقا بالآلهة الآرامية.
