هذا الكتاب محاولة أريد بها إزالة الغموض الذي يلابس مفهوم الفلسفة في أذهان من يجهلونها، ألقينا في مدخله بعض الضوء الذي ينير الطريق إلى فلسفة العصور الوسطى المسيحية، كما وضعنا بين طياته كيف ربط \"بونا فنتورا\" بين الفلسفة وعلم اللاهوت، وعلم اللاهوت عند المسيحيين يقابل علم التوحيد عند المسلمين، كما وضعنا في نهايته بعض النماذج لمشكلات فلسفية تتصل بحياة الإنسان في كل زمان ومكان. وأرجو أن يجد القارئ في هذا الكتاب، وفي تنوع موضوعاته ما يفتح له آفاق البحث في علم الفلسفة.
