يحاول الكاتب في هذا الكتاب أن يرصد جهود الشنقيطي الذي خاض غمار اللغة عن طريق تفسير لكتاب الله العزيز ومن هنا كانت علوم اللغة عنده متنوعة ومتعددة وقد اقتضت طبيعة الكتاب ينقسم على أربعة فصول يسبقها تمهيد ذكر فيه ترجمة موجزة لسيرة الشنقيطي وذكر مصنفاته التي قد خلفها وخصص الفصل الأول بالدراسة الصوتية وعرض في الفصل الثاني للدراسة الصرفية وعني الفصل الثالث بالدراسة النحوية أما الفصل الرابع فوسمته بالدراسة الدلالية.
