يتناول الكاتب \"منذر الشاوي\" في الجزء الأول من مذكراته هذه (معنى حياتي) تنويه وعشر فصول يقول في التنويه \" العودة الى الذكريات والكتابة عنها ليست مجرد ذكر حوادث أسهم الكاتب فيها او كان شاهدا عليها بل هي رؤية للحياة عبر حوادثها الذاتية والموضوعية وحين نكتب عن مسيرة الحياة فإننا نحدد معنى هذه المسيرة الحياتية حيث تلتقي الذات بحوادث الحياة ولابد من هذا اللقاء بين الذات والموضوع وتحديد معنى هذا اللقاء وحياتنا وجود لم نختره لكن نريد إدراك معناه وإدراك معنى الوجود يتطلب وعي الذات ومن ثم تحقيق هذه الذات ووجود الذات ووعي الذات وتحقيق الذات عبر مسلسل الحياة في شخوصها وحوادثها نصنع الكل الإنساني وكينونة الإنسان ووعيه وتحقيق ذاته أجزاء من مسلسل حياة تكون في مجموعها وتداخلها معنى هذه الحياة وعندها تصبح العودة إلى الذكريات واجبا حياتيا أكثر من كونها سردا تاريخيا.
