يوضح الكتاب أن نشأة النحو الأولى قد قامت على ضبط الإعراب وصون الألسنة من اللحن في تلاوة القرآن الكريم وتمثل ذلك بنقط الإعراب الذي وضعه أبو الأسود الدؤلي والذي يعد البذرة الأولى التي قام عليها النحو عند أكثر المحققين وتعد ظاهرة الإعراب مظهرا من مظاهر صعوبة المادة النحوية لدى المتعلمين ولا سيما الأعاجم الذين دخلوا في دين الله أفواجا، فلجأ النحويون إلى التأليف في تيسير النحو العربي في المنهج والمادة، فيعرض الكتاب هنا الشروحات والحواشي للمتون لغرض تيسيرها لطلاب العلم.
