يحاول هذا الكتاب إزالة غبار النسيان والتجاهل الذى لحق بتراث واحد من كتاب مصر ومفكرين فى نهاية القرن التاسع عشر وبداية القرن العشرين هو أحمد فتحى زغلول. واحمد فتحى زغلول- الشقيق الصغر لسعد زغلول- هو القاضى المصرى الذى شارك الإنجليز فى محاكمتهم الجائرة للفلاحين المصريين فى دنشواى 1906 لتظل تطارده بذلك اللعنات أينما حل ولكن الجانب الأخر المشرق فى حياته يصعب فى تاريخ فكر النهضة فى مصر المعاصرة ويحاول الكتاب إبراز هذا التناقض حيال ذلك الرجل ويوضح موقفه التحررى الليبرالى وموقعه فى الحركة الوطنية المصرية.
