يتناول البحث القيم النسقية في خطاب الكافوريات، وذلك بقراءة هذا الخطاب قراءة ثقافية، لنزع الحجب البلاغية التي تتستر خلفها هذه القيم النسقية، بغية القبض عليها، وتسليط الضوء على مواطنها في نص الكافوريات، وتوضيح آليات تخفيها. ومناقشة كل من النفاق والشحاذة والطمع، ومركزية الأنا وإلغاء الآخر، والعنصرية بوصفها ثمار النسق الأبرز في خطاب الكافوريات، وقيما موظفة في نص الكافوريات بطريقة تعكس ذهنية المتنبي القائمة على تراتبيات تحتل فيها الأنا الموقع الأعلى، وتصدر أحكام قيمة على الآخر من موقعها المتعالي، ووفق محددات الأنا. وبالاستعانة بآليات النقد الثقافي يعمل البحث على تعرية النسق المضمر بهدف محاكمته، وفضح أنماطه ومعاييره، وكسر قوالبه الجامدة، ودحض حججه.
