تقوم هذه الدراسة برصد أنماط الانزياح التركيبي في قصيدة \"واحر قلباه\" للمتنبي، وذلك باقتطاف النماذج المختارة من القصيدة ثم تحليلها تحليلا لغويا معتمدا على السياق الذي ترد فيه، بغية الوصول إلى إبراز تلك التحولات التركيبية التي تطرأ على الخطاب الشعري ومقارنتها بالنمط المعياري المألوف للوصول إلى السر الدلالي والجمالي وراء تلك الانزياحات التركيبية عن قواعد النحو المعيارية في الكلام العادي، كما تقوم الدراسة بالكشف عن مكمن المفاجأة والدهشة في كل صورة من صور الانزياح الواردة في القصيدة إيمانا بأن الوظيفة العظمى للانزياح هي خلق المفاجأة لدى المتلقي وجذب انتباهه إلى مضمون النص الشعري ومؤداه الدلالي.
