حظي السرد باهتمام النقاد قديما وحديثا، وتوحدت آراء الباحثين حول أهميته في إدراك جوهر العملية الإبداعية القصصية، ودلالتها، وإظهار رؤيتها، ما جعل هذا البحث يقف على مستويات السرد الذاتية والموضوعية والمتداخلة؛ لكشف أبعادها؛ ففي مستوى السرد الذاتي يقدم الراوي المشارك في الأحداث رؤيته مستخدما ضمير المتكلم، أو المخاطب، وفي مستوى السرد الموضوعي يقدم الراوي العليم أو الشاهد رؤيته مستخدما ضمير الغائب، وفي المستوى المتداخل تتداخل الضمائر، والرؤى؛ لتقديم عالم الراوي والشخصيات. ولا يتحقق هذا إلا بالنفاذ من المستوى السطحي إلى المستوى العميق، رابطين بين النمط السردي والرؤية التي يقدمها.
