\"All of the associations have had strategies and plans and there's been a pretty good alignment on them, but what we haven't done before is come together and develop this national strategy,\" he said. \"I think what's different (than in years past) is the degree of which we're working together on it. This will ensure that we're heading in the same direction.\" As Alberta has the largest beef industry in Canada, the province will benefit immensely as a result of this strategy, [Rich Smith] added. Although the plan is set to play out over five years, Smith explained changes will be made if they're deemed necessary. \"The objectives I doubt would change,\" he said. \"(If a change needs to be made) the actions we take to get to (our goals) will obviously have to be adjusted as conditions change, but the overall objectives are set. We know what we want to do.\" Smith added the objectives in Canada's National Beef Strategy are exactly what Alberta Beef Producers are looking for to meet their goals.
