It's not often that you find a board member of an arts organization as funny and stage-savvy as Susan Engel, president of the Guthrie Theater board. Engel emceed Monday's ground-breaking for the new [Guthrie]-on-the-River, taking the microphone after performer T. Mychael Rambo opened the event with a resonant a-capella rendition of Robert S. Lowry's 1864 hymn, \"Shall We Gather at the River?\"
