تحكي هذه الرواية عن سيرة تاريخية لبطلة أمازيغية حقيقية خلدتها الأشعار والروايات الشفاهية في جنوب شرق المغرب، وهي الشاعرة والمقاومة العطاوية \"عدجو\" من قبيلة \"آيت عطا\" الشرسة التي أظهرت شجاعة خارقة في مقاومة الحملة الاستعمارية الفرنسية في معركة \"بوگافر\". وتحكي الرواية كيف بدأت معاناة عدجو مع الفرنسيين منذ احتلالهم واحة تافيلالت نوفمبر عام 1917، حيث اضطرت عدجو لمغادرة الواحة التي أحبتها وعاشت فيها أجمل أيام شبابها، فرحلت مع والديها عائدين إلى قريتهم الأم في جبل صاغرو.
