تیمور والمعروف بتيمورلنك (بالفارسية: تيمور لنگ) (25 شعبان 736 هـ / 9 إبريل 1336-17 أو 18 فبراير 1405 م) قائد أوزبكي من القرن الرابع عشر ومؤسس السلالة التيمورية (1370 - 1405 م) في وسط آسيا وأول الحكام في العائلة التيمورية الحاكمة والتي استمرت حتى عام 1506 م. وتعني كلمة لنكى الأعرج نتيجة لإصابته بجرح خلال إحدى معاركه. أما كلمة تيمور فتعني بالأوزبكية الحديد. كان تيمورلنك قائدا عسكريا فذا قام بحملات توسعية شرسة أدت إلى مقتل العديد من المدنيين وإلى اغتنام مجتمعات بأكملها.
