Al Khawar and Al Sabaan Present Outstanding Nabati Poetry Performance at Mohammed Bin Rashid Library Theatre

In cooperation with the Social Media Pioneers Association and the Yas Association for Culture, Arts, and Theater, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library organised an exceptional poetry evening amid a large audience. The evening came within the framework of the library's strategy and vision to support the cultural sector and promote literature, as well as encourage writers, poets, and creatives to enhance their intellectual and literary production.

Dr. Mohammed Salem AlMazrooei, Board Member of the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library Foundation, stressed the library’s commitment to organise and host various cultural and heritage events with the participation of pioneers of thought, literature, and poetry. This comes based on its belief in the importance of disseminating knowledge about our literary heritage in its various arts, including classical and Nabati poetry, which are essential factors in the UAE’s heritage.

“We seek to enrich the cultural scene and nurture knowledge awareness by providing programs that meet the needs of different age and social groups, and offering a space for discussion and cultural exchange through interactive activities that enhance understanding and appreciation of multiple cultures,” added AlMazrooei.

The Emirati poet, Ali Al Khawar, and the star of the Millionaire’s Poet in its third season, the Saudi poet Ali Al Sabaan, participated in the evening, which was presented by media personality Maitha Sabbah. The poets recited their poems through an outstanding performance embodying human emotions in their finest forms. Their topics varied between patriotism and individuality, and they received remarkable interaction from the audience that filled the library theatre, including intellectuals, academics, and poetry lovers of all groups and ages.

The two poets began the evening with poems about His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. With a distinctive gesture, the poet of the nation congratulated Al Ain national team for its victory and qualification to the AFC Champions League final, with verses full of pride. In a poem, Al Sabaan described Dubai’s beauty and expressed his sincere love for the city and its people.

At the end of the evening, the Social Media Pioneers Association honored the participants and thanked the library authorities and its staff.

Since its establishment, the Mohammed Bin Rashid Library aims to stimulate passion for knowledge among all individuals, especially the youth in the UAE, and to preserve Arab literature, culture, and heritage, by supporting and encouraging reading, research, creativity, and entrepreneurship. The library does this by providing visitors with free access to a range of books and other knowledge materials, in addition to providing high-quality information services and launching distinctive cultural events.
