يأتي هذا الكتاب (الثالث) ضمن سلسلة كتب الرعاية الثقافية للطفل والتى قام المؤلف بإعدادها كمحاولة علمية لعرض موضوع كتب ومكتبات الطفال من خلال ثلاثة فصول أساسية ، تعرض فيها الفصل الول لموضوع كتب الأطفال ومدى أهميتها للطفل وأنواعها والمعايير الخاصة باختيارها وكذلك أيضا نماذج لتطور كتب الأطفال في بعض البلدان العربية (مصر-الكويت-العراق-تونس) ثم استعرض الفصل الثاني الخدمة المكتبية للأطفال من خلال التعرض للعلاقة الوطيدة بين طفل ما قبل المدرسة والمكتبة وكذلك لأنواع الخدمة المكتبية للإطفال وأهدافها والتجهيرات الأساسية لمكتبة الأطفال وأخيرا مجموعة المواد المتاحة بمكتبات الاطفال. وياتي الفصل الثالث والأخير ليتعرض لموضوع التربية المكتبية للطفل من خلال مفهوم وأهداف التربية المكتبية ومجالاتها وكذلك محتوى منهج التربية المكتبية لطفل الروضة.
