يتناول كتاب (مصر في عهد الإسلام : خواطر في تاريخها ونبذة عن آثارها : فتح مصر والإسكندرية) والذي قام بتأليفه (محمود عكوش) في حوالي (271) صفحة من القطع المتوسط موضوع (تاريخ مصر الإسلامي) مستعرضا أبرز المحتويات التالية : فتح مصر، سير عمرو بن العاص لفتح مصر، وصول عمرو إلى العريش، فتح الإسكندرية، زحف عمرو على الإسكندرية، بحث في تواريخ الفتح ومراجعة أقوال الدكتور بتلر عنها، استعراض أقوال كبار المؤرخين عن تواريخ الفتح، المقوقس، البرهنة على أن المقوقس غير قيرس بطرك الإسكندرية، الفسطاط، تخطيط المسجد فالمدنية.
