في الفلسفة كل علم يقتضي قوة تدرك وموضوعا يدرك ودواعي تحمل القوة المدركة على إدراك الموضوع فبقوة الفهم يدرك المرء الأشياء وبالذهن يحفظها تأثرا بما يطرأ عليه من التصورات فالفهم البشري إذا هو للفلسفة قوة مدركة، ثم إن الفلسفة هي علم الأصول وما يتفرع عنها فتشمل تحت حدها كل المعارف البشرية وتتناولها محتوى عليها فخاصتها ان تبحث عن المبادئ التصويرية وتقابل الملاحظات وتحل المشكلات وتقيم دستورا تقاس عليه سائر العلوم الأخرى فصح إذا أن الله والإنسان والكون بأسره هم موضوع الفلسفة.
