يضم هذا الكتاب حكايات من التراث الشعبي الفلسطيني اختارها وأعدها في طبعة خاصة بالأطفال بأسلوب مبسط أستاذان جامعيان متخصصان في الأدب الشعبي هما الدكتور شريف كناعنة والدكتور مهوي لقيمتها التراثية والفنية (جمالياتها وحسن أدائها) ولما تبرزه من ملامح الثقافة الشعبية في فلسطين ولأنها الحكايات الأكثر رواجا بين أبناء الشعب الفلسطيني وإن الغرض من إصدار هذا الكتاب التراثي الحفاظ على فن قصصي نسائي كان واسع الانتشار عندما كان الشعب الفلسطيني يمارس ثقافته في وطنه وعلى كامل أرضه وكذلك تقديم صورة علمية وموضوعية للثقافة العربية النابعة من أرض فلسطين ومن تراثها الإنساني الذي تضرب جذوره في عمق التاريخ.
