بعد رحلة دامت 56 عاما، أصبحت إيران تمتلك بنية نووية محلية تميزها عن غيرها من دول المنطقة ولكن محطات الطاقة النووية فيها ليست حديثة أو منافسة تجاريا أو آمنة بقدر المحطات التي من المرجح أن تشتريها الدول المجاورة في وقت أقل وبتكلفة أدنى. وتؤكد الدراسة على أن الضغط الاقتصادي أو القوة العسكرية من أمريكا وحلفائها لن يمكن لأيهما إيقاف البرنامج النووي الإيراني لارتباطه بالفخر القومي لدى إيران وبالتكاليف الهائلة التي تبلغ 100 مليار دولار ولن يتم حل القضية النووية الإيرانية في غياب تسوية سياسية أوسع.
