حاولت في هذه الأوراق متابعة حركة صدام منذ يوم 19 آذار 2003 حتى ساعاته الأخيرة عندما نفذ فيه حكم الإعدام شنقا في مدينة الكاظمية في دائرة الاستخبارات العسكرية.. تتبعت صدام في أيام الحرب التي بدأت يوم 20 آذار وتتبعت حركاته وتنقلاته ومواقفه أثناء الحرب برغم قلة المصادر وضعفها، كما تتبعت صدام في اختفائه واختبائه في آن واحد، وتتبعت حكاية اعتقاله ومحاكمته ثم إعدامه..لقد كانت أمام صدام سبل كثيرة للهروب من العراق بل والتنصل من الموت قبل شن الحرب على العراق، لكنه فضل البقاء والموت.. وكان السؤال الذي طرحناه : لماذا لم ينتحر صدام ويتخلص من السقوط بين أيدي أعدائه والتشهير به ؟ كانت أمام صدام وسائل كثيرة للهروب فلماذا ينتحر ؟.
