يحكي هذا الكتاب في صفحاته قصة عدد من الأطباء الأمريكيين الذين كان لهم إسهام واضح في تقديم الرعاية الصحية للمرضى في المملكة العربية السعودية خلال عهد الملك عبد العزيز وقد ضم الكتاب عددا من كتابات أولئك الأطباء التي يروون فيها تجاربهم في العمل الطبي في المملكة، إلى جانب إجراء عدد من العمليات الجراحية التي زادت عن سبعة عشر ألف عملية وذلك خلال زيارتهم المتصلة للمملكة والتي ابتدأت من العام 1913م، وتوقفت عام 1955م.
